Sound / Space / Perception

Takuto Molio

Sound as a spatial condition — shaping perception through layered states, resonance, and structure.

Tokyo-based sound artist and spatial sound designer working across exhibitions, installations, and commercial environments. His practice explores how sound can alter the character of a space rather than function merely as music in time.

Statement

Rather than treating sound as melody or narrative, Morio works with overlap, density, overtones, and the granularity of mid–high frequencies to produce an internal sense of pulsation within space.

His works move between art and applied environments, approaching sound as a condition that reorganizes perception. Across rooftops, pavilions, installations, and urban interiors, he designs sonic structures that do not simply explain a place, but quietly change how it is inhabited.
