Sound Installation / 2023
Sound as a ritual structure — constructing a conceptual space through resonance, perception, and layered states.
Historically, music has functioned as an act of prayer. In both Western and Japanese contexts, sound has been used to invoke, contain, and transform invisible presences within designated spaces.
naraka reinterprets this tradition by treating sound not as composition over time, but as a spatial system. Rather than existing as discrete musical elements, sound is distributed across the environment, forming a continuous perceptual field.
Through resonance, positioning, and density, the work constructs a layered condition where multiple states coexist, subtly altering the listener’s perception as they move through the space.
